Nativity Play Raises Money for Orphanage
Our Lady’s school hall was bursting at the seams on the 4th December as parents, grandparents and friends gathered to watch the children perform their Nativity Play. It was, to say the least, a noisy occasion with children from 2 years upwards taking part. Not all of them managed to stay on stage – although mums and dads tried their best to hide in the audience. ‘Mary’ insisted that she needed her mother with her throughout the whole production - well, a girl needs her mum around when times get tough!
Charlie Kirkpatrick did a superb job of narrating the play and many parents and grandparents commented on his confidence and calmness.
A number of guests said how lovely it was to see children performing a traditional Nativity play.
The Nativity play raised £123.66 which will be donated to Hmawbi orphanage in Burma. The orphanage houses eighteen girls from ages 3-18 and the money raised will be enough to feed one girl for a whole year.
