Nursery Curriculum
Children are admitted into the Nursery in the term following their third birthday, either directly from the Day Nursery or new into the school. Care is available on a year round basis as in the Day Nursery or on a term time basis, offering any combination of morning and / or afternoon sessions. Children in the Nursery are very much a part of the wider school and in addition to Nursery Nurses benefit from a full time qualified teacher during term time. Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Goals recommended by the Government which places much emphasis on play. We also extend this and offer many different educational and learning opportunities for your child. All activities follow a weekly theme which is shared with parents to encourage further opportunities for learning at home. Children may be taken out of school to gain real life experiences to support these themes if appropriate. Our children also benefit from the outdoor classroom and covered outside areas which enable a variety of learning environments whatever the weather.
The Nursery joins the rest of the school to perform productions and participate in assemblies.
