"I have been truly delighted by Our Lady’s. The school has given both my sons a firm foundation and grounding in preparation not only for senior school but also in becoming polite, caring young people. The staff’s commitment to developing each child and the level of individual care and tuition every child receives stands head and shoulders above other schools.
Good manners, thoughtfulness, kindness, warmth and happiness pervade the school. This is coupled with a disciplined and rigorous approach to teaching ensuring every child receives a thorough grounding in the basics of literacy, grammar, numeracy and beyond into science, languages, technology and religious education.
Equally the pastoral care of the children has been outstanding, the caring family culture and ethos ensures that staff intuitively pick up when something is not quite right, reassure the child and fix the problem. Both my sons are now at Salesian College, entering the school with confidence and equipped with an invaluable foundation upon which to build and flourish. We feel that our daughter is provided with the opportunities to grow, both academically and socially.
She is incredibly happy with all the staff and enjoys the time she spends with her peers. She has been given the chance to play in a beautiful, large garden, with large equipment and bikes. She has brought home many artistic paintings and “treasures” made in pottery class. She enjoys confidently speaking a little french and is looking forward to swimming with her friends. Her transition from room to room, as she has got older, has been smooth and carefully managed, with time to get to know the new staff and routinues. “I chose Our Lady’s for my four children because of its family atmosphere. Two of my children have gone on to their first choice secondary school and were very well prepared for this. I feel that the education delivered at the school is tailor-made for each pupil. At Our Lady’s children are instilled with great confidence, manners and courtesy which helps them to move on to the next phase of their education. To a large family the school offering great flexibility with before and after school care means a lot – nothing is a problem should circumstances arise.
