Vision & Development Plan
Our Lady’s was founded with the aim of bringing affordable, independent, Catholic education to the children of this area. Being a Charitable Trust we don’t have shareholders to satisfy, so every penny we receive goes into the school.
As an independent school, we make our own decisions about how we run the school. We aim to provide the very best education we can at an affordable price. Our SATS results over many years have been outstanding and we are proud of our record of getting children into the first choice senior schools.
As a Catholic school, we believe that, as well as an excellent academic education, children need to know the difference between right and wrong.
Although independent we do not intend to go down the route which so many independent schools have chosen. We tell parents up front what they are going to pay and there are no separate bills for the extras. Most independent schools insist on a term’s money up front. At Our Lady’s fees are paid monthly. Most independent schools insist on a term’s notice or a term’s fees in lieu of notice. We understand that circumstances change and only ask for a month’s notice.
Every one of us is aware of the present challenges that face the world. In particular, it is our children who will have to live through times of great change. We intend to make Our Lady’s much more Eco Friendly, while teaching our girls and boys about the environment. In a world where technology is bringing nations closer together, languages will play an increasing role. We intend to be in the forefront.
For many years, we have taught children up to the age of 11 years. Having, in recent years, opened a very successful Day Nursery, it is now our intention to offer parents even more choice by extending upwards the year groups taught. Even as we do that, Our Lady’s will remain a small school where teachers know every child and where every child is valued.
Working together, Trustees , Governors, Teachers and Parents will bring about the planned developments for the benefit of our children.
