Mrs Amy Empson

I am a qualified public finance accountant with substantial experience in financial stewardship, governance, and strategic decision‑making. My career has centred on supporting commercial leadership teams, strengthening financial controls, and enabling organisations to achieve sustainable, long‑term outcomes. As a leader myself, I bring a collaborative, people‑focused approach and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical guidance that supports confident and informed decision‑making.

With professional experience across both the NHS and the private sector, I am motivated to contribute my expertise to the school community. I am committed to championing strong governance and ensuring that resources are used effectively to support the pupils, staff, and wider community at Our Lady’s.

I live in Crowthorne with my husband and our two children who both attend Our Lady’s.

In my professional life, I am a Detective Inspector for Surrey Police. The majority of my career has been in investigations, with my specialism in safeguarding. This has included the investigation and risk management of domestic abuse and child protection cases.

I am an accredited Child Abuse Investigator and have worked alongside Children’s Services, Schools & Health to ensure the best outcomes for numerous children. I am passionate about ensuring that all children are happy, safe and are able to thrive.
Consequently I have responsibility for safeguarding and support the Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Mr Ian Davis

I’m a retired leisure professional with 42 years of experience in a customer‑focused industry. Over the years, I’ve managed large leisure facilities and built strong skills in operations, finance, people management, and event management. I’ve always enjoyed working with communities and helping teams achieve their best.

I’m keen to use that experience to support the governing board—offering practical insights, supporting long‑term thinking, and contributing to the school’s ongoing success. My aim is to contribute in a positive, steady way that helps create the best possible environment for pupils and staff.

I’m a local family man, married, with three grown‑up children and four grandchildren, plus two cats and a dog who keep things lively at home. I’m a big sports fan with an eclectic taste in music — and I never say no to a cheeky glass of red wine!
